According to Andy, this was:
  • very much cross-country, with terrain like our 8.1mile trail run
  • there were no signs or marshalls
  • no route available beforehand
  • no map
  • there was written instructions, which had to be read at every fence, stile, gate etc.
  • only three water-stations
  • only 12 runners (+ 26 walkers)
  • it came in short at 24.1miles, so i needed to do 6 laps of the playing field to make the distance up to 26.2 miles
In summary, i would not recommend for future runners unless:
  • you like navigation from instructions
  • you enjoy rough terrain and scenic views
  • you are tight (£3.50 entry)
  • poor planner (entries on the day)
  • dont want to travel far (its just north of Desborough - home in time for tea!)
  • you hate the crowds
