Slightly different from the Battle of Britain event, this was one short and six long laps around the reservoir to the north east of the A45/A428 Barnes Meadow interchange. The south and the west side of the course is tarmac path, the north side is cross country path and the east side is a nice grassy rim around the reservoir banking. I did the first day of a two day event. The double would be a nice, cheap, way to increase a marathon tally without much travel..

My run: took a wrong turn on the first of the big laps so added about a mile (moral: study the maps, and don’t just follow the runners in front – who cut off half a mile). Time: 5:16.
